Documentation Website for the Biblissima Observatory Now Online

The Biblissima team has launched a website for the documentation which will be produced during the construction of the Observatory for the written cultural heritage of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (Phase 1 of the project): doc.biblissima.fr

This website is designed to be a publication platform for part of the documentation accumulated by the team while building the Biblissima Observatory. It is an information and demonstration space that will evolve as the project is developed, providing information of a technical nature primarily for the benefit of the partner institutions (summary reports, studies and proposals, demos, results of data alignment, etc.).

A first report, concerning the International Image Interoperability Framework, is currently available online. This image interoperability initiative is central to the development of a meta-repository of digitial images: a vast digital library that provides access to high resolution digital surrogates of medieval manuscripts and early printed books.

There is also a section for all the public presentations that have been given about Biblissima, which can be downloaded.
