Job Offer (SAPRAT-EPHE, Paris): Manuscripta Medica, Early Collections of Medical Manuscripts

The Equipe d'Accueil 4116-SAPRAT (EPHE) is looking to recruit a research assistant for a 12-month contract (renewable for an additional 6 months), within the scope of the Biblissima project, to update and populate Manuscripta medica (Manmed), an online database of Latin medical manuscripts currently held in France.

Required Skills

  • PhD in the Humanities or equivalent foreign degree
  • general knowledge of medieval intellectual history
  • excellent skills in Medieval Latin
  • codicology and Latin palaeography
  • data modelling and databases
  • data standardisation
  • history of old libraries
  • good knowledge of the history of the transmission of texts

Conditions

Location: SAPRAT offices (75005 Paris) ; Bibliothèque nationale de France and occasional research missions to libraries in other regions of France

Start Date: 1st November 2014

Working Hours: 38.5 hours / week

Salary: IR2 level
