Biblissima Project Inauguration - 31 May 2013

Building the New Library of Libraries Together
31st May 2013, 10:00-17:00

The Campus Condorcet, centre for the humanities and social sciences, is the project leader for the "équipement d’excellence" Biblissima (Bibliotheca bibliothecarum novissima, an observatory for the written cultural heritage of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance), which is the result of close cooperation between libraries and research teams.

The founding partners — the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the CESR (Tours), the CIHAM (Lyon), the CRAHAM and the MRSH (Caen), the CJM at the École des Chartes, the Saprat team at the École pratique des hautes études and the Institut de recherche et d'histoire des textes (CNRS) —  are developing cooperation at the national and international levels: Biblissima will gather data and redistribute it according to semantic web practices.

In order to promote Biblissima's first call for projects, this meeting on 31st May 2013 will bring together professionals from both research and cultural institutions, for discussions on how to construct this new environment for research on the circulation of texts in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

This inaugural event will be hosted by the Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes at 40 Avenue d'Iéna, Paris, 16th arrondissement, (metro Iéna or Boissière), salle Jeanne Vielliard.
