Cluster 2 – Study and searchability of data issued from the analysis of materials

1/ Materials analysis: data acquisition and archiving

The work of the cluster aims at archiving in a sustainable way, in partnership with Huma-Num, and making available to researchers the material analysis data of manuscripts, inscriptions, seals etc. The challenge is to allow the reuse of these data for research projects from different disciplines, both for materials specialists and historians of written cultures, thus ensuring the preservation of these precious objects, which are regularly solicited for this kind of analysis.

2/ Materials analysis: "searchability" of data

By structuring and standardising the data in accordance with common models, the goal is to ensure that community's data can be stored, shared and queried. To this end, we will attempt to build tools that are easy to use, reliable and accessible to non-specialists in materials analysis, based on the data already collected by the various partners (phase 1). These tools are intended to be used by any laboratory producing this type of data and willing to contribute to common databases (phase 2).
